Squads In Attendance:
Atlantic Health System Representatives
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 p.m. by President Sue Meyer.
Dr Mastro took over for Dr Espinosa. Apu from Springfield complained that the decon and shower room was a mess, dark water from hose – Dr Chris will speak with Sharon Kelly about this. Discussed Ryan White forms and their location. No one seems to know what happened to them when the ER was redesigned. Dr Chris was aware of the Ryan White forms but thought it was handled thru Employee Health. Dr Chris suggested that the forms go on the ER computer to be printed out when needed, but it was mentioned that JACO says the forms need to be accessible at all times with an action plan. MMH and St Barnabas have the forms at patient registration. Dr Chris will speak with Sharon about this. The new ER computer needs a patients DOB to get the patient into the system.
The replacement of supplies was discussed – no one was comfortable giving us the ‘code’ to the supply room, but we are supposed to be able to replace the supplies One For One (masks, cannulas, etc) Code is 9230. Sue will check again with Sharon about replacing supplies. A signout sheet was suggested (like MMH). Also, can a large garbage can be placed outside for regular trash. The HEAR radio is working – try twice, give your report anyway and assume that the ER staff heard you.
Art said that MONOC is dispatching it’s own units now. New ID’s for Mets: 251 and 252; Medic 4 is now 254 and 255. Dispatch centers working with each other to send the closest unit. Looking at new 911 and fire contracts. Staffing is down due to EMTAC no longer being dispatched by Cencom
Medics are on a trial rotation between Chatham, Springfield, Westfield. Dave said no complaints. Ray wants the EMT-D reports faxed or emailed to him.
Dan Sullivan and Frank Goodstein questioned why Cencom only sends Cencom dispatched united as backup instead of using the lists each town has provided to Gareth each year – Art will check on it. Art will also check on the Clark fire situation as regards to above. A thank you to Apu on the PGA – 136 EMTs and30 agencies participated. The New Orleans response (or lack of it) was discussed. THE PGA wants to use our program since it worked so well
